Another suggestion during the Sunday session of the conference was that our network of alliances should develop some sort of media strategy to raise awareness of critical issues, such as the federal government's refusal to sign the UN Draft Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. It was also suggested that people should develop a media strategy for when the Robert Pickton trial begins, as it will undoubtedly be a media circus. What sorts of messages should we be sending out and how should this be organized? Who is interested in contributing to this?
